Lars Holst is an expert in eFX with over 20 years’ of experience in the banking sector. He co-founded and served as CEO of CFH Clearing and has a unique background from both the retail and banking side and most recently from the technology sector of the industry. CFH Clearing was sold to Playtech in November 2016.

Prior to CFH Clearing, Lars was European Head of Currenex’s (StateStreet Bank) Margin Trading Group and responsible for both the product and the business side. Lars was assigned to help create and build a new margin (retail) broker trading platform and was responsible for delivering the majority of the global budget.

Lars also spent several years with Dresdner Bank as Head of eFX Sales and was a key player in all eFX initiatives and the eFX turn around. His responsibilities included business sponsorship for Dresdner’s white label solutions and for all relations withAPI clients, brokers, ECNs and multi-bank platforms. Before leaving, Lars was made interim business owner of the FX Prime Brokerage team.

Lars also has over five years’ experience with Saxo Bank in various leadership roles including Global Head of Sales and Account Management. Lars holds a BSc and MSc and is a CFA Charterholder.

Chief Financial Officer

Ricardo Salcedo has over 8 years’ experience in financial services and has passed the level III Chartered Financial Analyst examinations.

Ricardo was previously a corporate finance manager with Ernst & Young covering a broad range of technology and FinTech sub-sectors. Numerous successful transactions (M&A, fundraisings and secondary investments) with a focus on EMEA and cross-border transactions. In addition, Ricardo spent several years working at the Bloomberg corporate development team driving the inorganic growth of the global data and trading systems products.

Ricardo holds an MSc in Finance from Cass Business School in London, UK; an MIB from Grenoble Graduate School of Business in Grenoble, France; and a BSc in International Business from Tec de Monterrey and in Economics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

Chief Technical Officer

Alex Gallagher-Lynch oversees the entire technology stack at GCEX, from trading systems to client on-boarding platforms.  Alex has spent his career building ultra-high frequency and latency-sensitive execution systems and trading models across a range of asset classes.  Having dealt with a range of exchanges, trading venues, ECNs and direct counter parties as well as leading technology vendors, he is experienced in operating in some of the most highly regulated electronic trading environments in the world.  He has worked for a range of firms including a proprietary, latency-sensitive FX trading firm, an ultra-high frequency futures fund and Cobalt, a firm bringing front-office technology to the FX back-office. While at Cobalt, Alex designed a multi-patent pending low-latency blockchain solution to bring immutability to the back-office and to the core of matching engines.  He also founded a distressed debt communication network, which underpins the entire asset class across Ireland and has become an element of critical infrastructure.

Quantitative Research

Henry Price is currently a doctoral candidate in Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London. Working on a diverse number of topics in network theory and applied mathematics. Actively researching Cryptocurrency, IOT and Blockchain technology with Imperial College and other University of London research groups, he also provides instruction/consulting on machine learning and data science.

A graduate of Imperial College with a first degree in Physics with Theoretical Physics, he continues to do research there in Complex Networks and Directed Acyclic Graphs. Henry also studied Mathematics and Financial Modelling and holds a MSc with a thesis on Cryptocurrency Volatility. His most recent research also concerns computational methods in the digital humanities and social/life sciences, in addition to derivatives and futures contracts on Bitcoin.

Remonda Kirketerp-Moller has over 18 years experience in legal/regulatory matters in financial services. She is a visionary business leader, financial industry veteran and CEO/Founder of muinmos, Remonda is helping to revolutionize regulatory compliance and client on-boarding in the financial services sector. She is a recognised speaker and expert advisor on regulatory matters and in the FinTech and RegTech space and is a contributing author of “The RegTech Book”.

Remonda has a proven track record of using technology to automate highly complex legal and regulatory processes in financial services. As the former Director of the Legal and Compliance Department at Saxo Bank from 2003-2008, Remonda founded the Market Data Department specialising in big data analysis and process automation to support Saxo Bank’s global business strategy. In 2008, she co-founded CFH Group Companies, which has become a market leader in its global offering and was sold to Playtech in 2016.

Remonda is authorized and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of England and Wales, as a member of the Danish Bar and Law Society, is a recognised European lawyer and holds a number of board positions.

Paul Ronan is a career technologist with 20+ years’ experience across the financial sector working in capital markets, private banking and brokerage businesses. He has held senior delivery roles and sat on business management committees with companies like JP Morgan and Saxo Bank as well as working at manager/partner level for European consultancies. During his career, he has focused on building technology teams and platforms that support aggressive growth and innovation. His expertise covers derivatives, risk managementandmulti-asset e-commerce,andheis deeply rooted in modern technology build and innovation practices.

Academic and Ethical Advisory Board

Ethicist & Interdisciplinary Research Fellow

Hugh Lawson-Tancred graduated from Balliol College, Oxford with a double first in Literae Humaniores. He is an Associate Research Fellow of the Philosophy Department at Birkbeck, University of London, and a member of the Birkbeck Institute for Data Analytics (BIDA). 

He lectures on data ethics and the socio-technical impact of distributed ledger technologies. He is currently focused on the development of blockchain applications for the next-generation of regulation technology solutions. He has a background in ancient philosophy and has published on Aristotelian philosophical psychology and metaphysics. He has extensive teaching experience at both secondary and tertiary levels.

Fellow in Mathematical Finance

Pedro Vergel is internationally renowned for providing cutting edge market intelligence, and has been actively involved in editorial work with well-known finance publishers.

Dr Vergel has published several papers in world class academic journals and teaches Mathematical Finance at the University of London. Among others, he has taught postgraduate courses in derivatives pricing, commodities modelling, market and credit risk management, C++ for finance, and financial modelling with VBA.

His expertise extends from the field of Mathematical Finance to Real Assets, including real estate, commodities and art.
